Central Committee

About Central Committee

Central Committee is the publicly elected governing and voting body of the political parties (both Democrat and Republican.)  Members of Central Committee represent their local voting Ward at the county party level.  Responsibilities include hiring a political party chairman, endorsing qualified candidates, supporting the efforts of community grassroots and ballot issues, locating a good farm team of candidates for future political offices, and shaping the direction of outreach to local neighborhoods throughout the county.  This is a volunteer position – committee members are not paid for their service.

Each county’s Party Executive Committee is comprised of all Central Committee members and additional individuals approved by the Central Committee.  The Executive Committee directs the general policy of the Party organization, assists in conducting campaign activities and is responsible to promote the best interests of the Party.
