Based upon a number of sources, Chuck Laughlin has pulled together a chronology of events that lead up to and tie into the development of Common Core Curriculum. The chronology is important to understand because the standards themselves are a little difficult to challenge in terms of point by point showing the issues. Perhaps someone has been more successful on this point and can help.
However, the bigger issue is that this is a Trojan Horse being put forth to the teachers in our public schools as a very good thing. As some can already attest to, the really big issue comes with how it is required to be taught. It sounds really good to have to use seminal documents from our Founding Fathers. But it makes all the difference how it is presented, what is included, and what is not.
If this is allowed to be implemented, it will be very difficult to stop the science and social studies (history) components which can just about be guaranteed to include the hoax of man-made global warming, Agenda 21 type sustainability, and historical revisionism. Then we will have nationalized education to go along with our nationalized medicine.
